Illovo - Human Capital Report 2014/15 - page 3

Key areas of human resource focus include workplace safety; continuous improvement benchmarking;
targeted manpower succession planning; talent and performance management; the maintenance of
collaborative industrial relations; human resource development and business understanding; human
rights; workplace diversity; B-BBEE-linked employment equity and localisation programmes and the
health and welfare of employees and their dependants. These are issues considered to be material to
the organisation because of the actual or potential impact they may have on the organisation, the risks
they may pose or the opportunities they may present, and the extent to which they may influence
stakeholder assessments of the company and consequent decisions by them. All relevant laws and
regulations are also material considerations. Please refer to the Materiality Assessment and Risk
Management sections in the 2015 Integrated Annual Report at
.
All human capital-related developments, including staff movements, skills development activities and
health and safety incidents, form part of Illovo’s internal management reporting processes. These
matters are also reported to the company’s Social and Ethics Committee. In relation to these matters,
see further the information contained in the Socio-economic Impact Report and the 2015 Integrated
Annual Report, which may be found at
